30-40 Teesdale Place Renewal
Nearly five decades after their original construction, these twin residential towers were identified for a comprehensive overhaul.
The renewal of these 24-storey buildings encompasses extensive updates to enhance energy efficiency, durability, and aesthetics that involved both interior and exterior renovations.
The towers are constructed of reinforced concrete structure with exposed slab edges, brick cladding, and punched windows.
RJC’s involvement, working with the larger project team, focused on replacing all the exterior windows and doors, recladding the opaque walls, wholesale roof replacement, and reconstruction of the grade level façade.
As the building envelope engineers, our work included pre-design assessment, and design-assist services from schematic design, design documents, contract documents through construction and performance testing for the Toronto Community Housing property.
The result is a modernized appearance and improved performance for these iconic structures, blending historical significance with contemporary functionality.
