The $180M, 180,000 sq. ft. Abbotsford Law Courts is a state-of-the-art facility that plays a critical role in the administration of the justice system within the Lower Fraser Valley region.

Doubling the capacity of the old courthouse and allowing for future expansion, the courthouse benefits the community by creating hundreds of employment opportunities in the justice departments and improving the local economy.

Delivered through a P3 project delivery model, RJC Engineers structural engineering team worked with PCL Construction to deliver this modern, four-storey courthouse with a one-level basement and a three-storey parking garage.

The building includes a total of 14 courtrooms: eight Provincial courtrooms, three Supreme courtrooms, and three initial appearance/conference rooms.

Additionally, the facility houses community corrections, prosecution services, legal aid, duty counsel, Aboriginal court workers, a justice access centre, and an expanded courthouse library.
