Forma is an impressive mixed-use development comprising two soaring towers, reaching heights of 73 and 84 storeys, and dominating the Toronto skyline with their striking, stacked asymmetrical boxes.

Celebrated as the "homecoming" project of Toronto-born architect Frank Gehry, the design is a heartfelt tribute to the city. Each tower features three vertically stacked, slightly twisted blocks, creating a pirouetted shape that is a hallmark of Gehry’s signature style. This unique form allows for innovative floor plans and private views on each level.

The façades are characterized by shimmering glass and steel cladding, designed to reflect light and the vibrant colors of the surroundings, resulting in a dynamic and constantly changing visual presence.

The structural design uses an innovative tuned sloshing damper (TSD) on both towers to control building motion against sway from wind and seismic activity.

The development includes a multi-level podium with extensive retail and office spaces, with four levels of each in the west tower and three levels in the east tower, fostering a lively urban environment. Once completed, Forma will offer 2,034 condominium units along with commercial and retail spaces, contributing significantly to Toronto's cityscape. Additionally, the project will feature a new space dedicated to OCAD University, enriching the city’s cultural landscape.

RJC served as the structural engineering and façade consultants for this ambitious project, ensuring the towers’ iconic design is both innovative and structurally sound.
