The Cambridge Civic Administration Building has been designed to complement the civic functions and heritage character of the Cambridge Civic Square, including the heritage Town Hall originally constructed in 1857.

The building provides expansion space as well as consolidating civic functions on the Civic Centre site.

Features of the building include a four-storey atrium which acts as an interior public square during the winter months.

The atrium also features a green wall bio-filter which is a component of the indoor air quality systems and is an element of the sustainable design strategy for the building.

The building has achieved LEED® Gold certification and is the first LEED® Gold municipal building in Canada
