Canaccord Genuity Place Reglazing - 609 Granville
Canaccord Genuity Place is part of Cadillac Fairview’s Pacific Centre shopping mall and was originally completed in 1981.
In early 2017, construction work began for an external renovation to the 25-storey, 329 ft. tall tower.
This exterior renovation included the removal and replacement of over 125,000 sq. ft. of exterior glazing while the building was fully occupied and normal building operations were maintained.
The renovations began at the top using a suspended work deck that wrapped the entire perimeter of the building and progressed to the lower floors.
A scaffolding system as also erected on the sidewalk to maintain pedestrian traffic and access to ground floor retail.
The new glazing provides a lighter, more crystalline and less mirror appearance, and additional thermal insulation, enhancing the aesthetic and functional performance of the building.
